On 23 August 2025, Diakonie Kosova had the honor of welcoming Johann Saathoff, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, to our center in Mitrovica.
Together with Heike Backofen-Warnecke, Head of Division at the BMZ, and Ms. Salihi from the German Embassy in Kosovo, Mr. Saathoff visited our facilities and learned more about the work of Diakonie Kosova/Diakonie Training Center.
During the visit, we presented the wide range of trainings offered at the Diakonie Training Center, our Psycho-Social Center for Trauma Therapy, and the various projects we run to support the local community. The delegation showed great interest in the services we provide and the impact these programs have on people’s lives.
The visit concluded in a warm and personal atmosphere, as we gathered to enjoy a meal prepared by our students from the kitchen training program. It was a wonderful opportunity to share not only our projects, but also the talents and hospitality of our team.
We are grateful for the visit and the continued support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
